With many media outlets calling the trip to Shropshire Revolution a rivalry game and picks for ‘Game of the Week’ it was safe to say that expectations were high, and the Steelers met them taking control from the off.

Special teams took first blood, after a strong defensive start and a sack from LB Rich Kilvington, Shropshire botched a long snap leading to the first of two safeties.

The offence stuttered on the opening drive before finding their feet with some beautiful running from RB Raph Chisholm following big blocks LG Jon Varney and RG Kevin Thomas.

QB Tristan Varney finished the drive throwing the opening touchdown to WR Austyn Young and the Steelers didn’t look back behind outstanding days from WR Louis Haines and RB Raph Chisholm.

Sandwell’s very own Legion of Swag have committed to donating £25 per interception and fumble recovery to the charity The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, and it turned out to be an expensive day for the Legion as DB Sam Busher got a pick in the first half and DB Gareth Thomas started the second half with a pick allowing the Steelers to take full advantage, rolling to a 37-0 victory.
