Meet Our Committee

The Sandwell Steelers is a non-profit amateur sports club which relies on the countless hour of its volunteers to function at a high level. To ensure the Club runs smoothly, however, a small team is appointed by the members to steer the club in the right direction.

Chairman

The Chairman has a strategic role to play in representing the vision and purpose of the club. The Chairman ensures that the management committee functions properly and that effective decisions are made and delivered. Rob has been with the club for a year, having been appointed in September 2017.

Vice-Chairman

The Vice Chair’s key responsibilities are supporting the Chairman in his duties, as well as assuming his responsibilities where the Chairman is absent or unable to perform his agreed roles and responsibilities. Anthony has been with the club in a number of positions since inception, including Chairman until 2017.

Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for the efficient and smooth running of the Management committee meetings, preparing agendas, minutes as well as timekeeping. The Secretary is also responsible for ensuring Membership records are acquired and maintained as well as ensuring the Clubs HR needs are met. Fiona has been the Secretary since 2016.

Adult GM

The Adult General Manager is the principal administrator for the Sandwell Steelers’ Adult programme. This role, within the strategic vision of the club, has the autonomy to manage and co-ordinate the programme to the best of their ability, ensuring the members have the best possible programme we can offer to them. Pinky became General Manager in 2017.

The Women’s General Manager is the principal administrator for the Sandwell Steelers’ Women’s Programme. This role, within the strategic vision of the club, has the autonomy to manage and co-ordinate the programme to the best of their ability, ensuring the members have the best possible programme we can offer to them. Sam became General Manager in 2015.

The U17 General Manager is the principal administrator for the Sandwell Steelers’ Under 17 programme. This role, within the strategic vision of the club, has the autonomy to manage and co-ordinate the programme to the best of their ability, ensuring the members have the best possible programme we can offer to them. Sydney was co-opted in to the role in 2017.

Treasurer

The role of the Treasurer is to maintain an overview of the club’s financial affairs, ensuring its sustainability and ensuring that proper financial records and procedures are maintained at all times across its numerous programmes. Pete has been involved with the club since it first associated and has held the position of Treasurer since 2016.
